How to use gadgets and technology in interesting ways

The idea for this short blog article was based on supposedly an interview that was scheduled last week. However, it did not materialize. The reason was that the interviewer has missed the date and time for the interview which was to happen between him and myself, though he left me two first two questions: (1.) What are the gadgets I usually use in my daily life? (2.) How do I use gadgets and/ or technology in interesting ways?

As an online blogger, I have to do some research too, to support my would-be answers to the first two questions that the interviewer has left me. The subject topic was gadgets and technology. I found them interesting stuff to discuss. By the way, I would like to say thank you to the interviewer, in spite the supposed interview did not happen, but I found the questions compelling to write.

For the first question: What are the gadgets I usually use in my daily life?

My answer goes like this: For the virtual world - the common gadgets I usually used are laptops and mobile phones through a wifi connection and for some home chores, I used a washing machine, electric iron, rice cooker, oven toaster, and electric blender.

For the second question: How do I use gadgets and/or technology in interesting ways?

I answered it based on what I experienced. It goes like this: When I started my blog and blogging hobby online in mids 2000, I had used my laptop and mobile phone. With these digital gadgets and technology, I had created my personal blog site through hosting sites like WordPress, Blogger, and Weebly.

Also with these digital gadgets, I had successfully connected to the different social media that are existing today like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and much more. Also these gadgets, I used to communicate with people who are living a thousand miles away.

I had traveled around the world while sitting down on my chair virtually. I had visited many amazing places in the world, also, with them, I could watch online movies, online concerts, etc. Also, these gadgets and technology have helped me in my online education. I was a product of a home study program in the late 90s and in early 2000. In other words, I am using these digital gadgets and technology for all my online activities.

While to make my life easier in dealing with some home chores, I had to use some gadgets, devices, and small tools that are the products of technology like a washing machine to wash my clothes, electric iron to iron my clothes, to cook rice I used a rice cooker, to grill fish, meat and to toast bread, I had to use the oven toaster and to produce fresh fruit juices, I had to use an electric blender.

Also, I included the definitions and meanings of some of the terms used in this write-up, such as technology, internet, wifi, WWW, and gadgets.

Technology is science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools or it refers to methods, systems, and devices that are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes. An example of technology is the Internet which has made up-to-date information available to anyone with access in a matter of moments and provides real-time information about events around the world.

The internet is the computer network that allows computer users to connect with computers all over the world, and which carries email. WWW is an abbreviation for World Wide Web. It appears at the beginning of website addresses in the form www. The World Wide Web is a computer system that links documents and pictures into a database that is stored in computers in many different parts of the world and that people everywhere can use.

Wi-Fi is a system of using the internet without being connected with a wire. A gadget is a small machine or device which does something useful.

Are gadgets important to students? Yes. They reduce time on studying and comprehension processes as gadgets can save time significantly. Gadgets improve overall student performance. Enables student-centered learning. Enhances knowledge-retention. Enhances presentation and illustration of lectures. Enhances collaboration. Can be used for research purposes. Can be used for easier access to materials and easier storage of information. Can be used by students to verify the information. Can be used for easier communication. And can be used for virtual classrooms or virtual learning.
